Tanya Corrin is a Qualified Naturopath,
Nutritionist and Herbalist whose own journey into
Natural Therapies began in 1992 when she started seeking
answers for her own health problems that were not
being addressed by the conventional medical fraternity.
A chance conversation with a Naturopath
in 1996 led to her discovery of a gluten intolerance
that had been one of the main underlying causes of
her health problems. What many would consider to be
a curse, Tanya counts this as a most beneficial turning
point in her life. "Discovering I was allergic
to wheat and other products that contain Gluten, made
me look very closely at what I was eating. Like so
many people I thought I was eating very healthily
especially as at the time I was a vegetarian. On close
examination of my diet I discovered that so much of
what I was eating was highly refined and contained
items I had no idea would be present in those particular
foods. So basically I learnt to cook everything from
basic ingredients. After a while of eating this way I discovered that I no
longer even wanted foods that were seen as necessary
by everyone else. It also started me on my journey
to spread the word to others that you do not believe
marketing hype about foods, or anything for that matter,
always question everything."
This passion saw Tanya decide that it
would be best if she formalised her hard won personal
knowledge with industry specific qualifications. She
graduated from the Australian College of Natural Medicine
in 2003 with an Advanced Diploma of Health Science
in Naturopathy and Diplomas in Herbal Medicine and
Nutrition. Over the years she has worked for
several well-known Health Food stores, in Pharmacy,
for an allergy specialist clinic and has had her own
clinic since 2004. In 2004 she gained further qualifications
in Metabolic Typing and in 2005 gained qualifications in Biomesotherapy & Homotoxicology.
